We then fit new plywood panels throughout including a one piece ply roof lining with soft white leds and a switch mounted just by the sliding door for easy access. These products have been used for many years to gives even diyers a professional finish to campervan conversions motorhomes. There are other advantages to the fully ply lined van also. With all of the plywood lining to the floor roof and sides of the camper van in place i had a nice clean interior surface ready for final finishing with some four way stretch carpet lining.

The 7mm liner is a thermal equivalent to 100mm of glass wool. Cutting the roof panels ply lining the camper van interior checking the plywood fit before fixing. Although there is an extra step in lining the van with plywood first in the long run i think it gives a cleaner finished product. You can achieve a better level of insulation in the van by batoning out the shell fitting thicker insulation in the van and then plying over the insulation.

Many camper conversions add a vapour barrier over the top of the insulation and before lining the walls and ceiling. This will prevent any water vapour not ventilated making it s way to the metal and eroding it over time.
