I think i spent about 1 1 2 hours cleaning the sink before i even started painting.

The painting was actually pretty easy but these steps take time. First i used the fine bristled brush to cut in around the edges of the counter. Remember to clean the sides and bottom of the sink if you plan to paint those areas. Rinse the entire sink with water and dry with a towel.

A painted bathroom sink was a bit more tricky but still not terrible. Use sandpaper to scuff the sink and acetone to remove gloss. Sand the entire sink with medium grit sandpaper or sand. You use this paint just like any other spray paint.

The most important thing about painting a bathroom sink is the prep work. Shake it well hold the can 10 16 away from the sink and spray in a steady back and forth motion. Painting the countertop is actually pretty easy. Apply 2 3 light coats letting each one dry in between for 15 minutes.

For the sink basin i applied in a circular pattern starting at the top rim and proceeding down to the drain. If more than 4 hours have passed allow the paint to cure for 72 hours before applying the second coat. A great alternative is to use automotive paint which comes in aerosol cans. Spray paint your kitchen sink two part epoxy and urethane finishes are definitely hard enough to finish a sink but these finishes really should be sprayed and for that you need to rent spray equipment.
